General Electric Reel To Reel Tape Recorder Model M-8001C
This is a Vintage Solid State General Electric Portable Reel To Reel Tape Recorder, Model M-8001C. Here I demonstrate the playback function of this unit, with the tape that came with it when I bought it. It is a recording of a Catholic Church choir singing, "Ave Maria". I believe this recording was made with this particular tape recorder. The date code stamped inside the battery door is 6491. This recorder is functioning properly, the belts could stand to be replaced, the tape drags every now and then. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! It is DC bias, unfortunately. I think the recording was made on the back-side of the tape, which probably had some effect on the quality. Thanks for watching!

AWESOME! I would like to get a model like this someday. Is this one DC bias or AC bias?
