Gizeh

Sanne Jansweijer and Jan-Geert Munneke designed a music player called Gizeh. When it's actively used, the product obeys the user, is loyal playful and friendly. When left alone it will start leading its own life, sometimes attracting the attention of the user. When the user is under stress the EMSR won't react to stressful movements made by the user. The player will mostly be used in a home situation, but may be portable as well. The player learns about the music preferences of the user and will use this knowledge when the user doesn't interact with the player. E.g. playing evening favourites in the evening. The user should relate to the product as to a living creature. This is supported by the organic characteristics of the EMSR (anthropomorphic features like breathing, pulsating heartbeat, glowing, body warmth, varying softness). The product cheers up when the user interacts with it.
