云海玉弓缘(1966) The Jade Bow - The Sword Fight of ladies 陈思思和王葆真决一死战


one of my beloved sword fighting and dramatic scene .Different from typical violence or funny element seen in Hong Kong kungfu movie, this scene was somehow poetic and sentimental, and the movement has been very artisticly designed.

The color of the filmset has been very special, sunset red background representing hatred and dillema of the scene, blue representing the kind hearted and depressingly confused Chen Sze Sze in executing the assasination plan toward her friend, while white has the quality of sincerity and purity demonstrated by Wang Bao Zhen.


The Chinese zither background music has been very synchronized with the movement and emotion of the scene.

Both Chen Sze Sze and Wang Bao Zhen have given compelling peformancer as well~

Hi Dev, This Movie Scene reminds me more at some Opera than an martial Arts Movie; maybe because the other Cinematography. The "red" Color is really Artictic:-)
I like to see this Film one Day. it seems to be a real Treasure.
