No, it's not dirty to water wash your hair. You just have to make sure you scrub your scalp to pull up any dead skin. The soap in shampoo may easily rid your hair of dirt, but it also takes away all of your natural "conditioner"/sebum. So after you strip your hair of it's natural nutrients, you end up having to replenish it with conditioners. Just remember, friction is what cleans, not soap. After awhile of using water, you'll notice your hair starting to take care of itself a little more.

there's this stuff called wen that was on an infomercial and it's a way to clean your hair without shampoo. it also moisterizes. I have natural hair and am thinking about trying it out because we all know that shampoo strips hair of its natural oils......Its not nasty....plus if your hair starts to smell or something, you'll know and can shampoo, just less is all

Yeah Im starting to go natural. Natural African American hair is nice, and I finally realize that it does not have to be relaxed to be manageable or look nice!
