My bargain vintage stereo system FM bandscan
** Add&fmt=18 to the URL for High Quality! **This time I brought one of the speakers up close so you can get a better idea of how it sounds on a nighttime FM bandscan here in central New Jersey. Notice the cool touch sensitive tuner knob -- the tuning LED only lights up when you have your hand on the knob! Later in the video I switch to monomode, which disables the touch sensitive dial and muting.
Tuner/amp: Kenwood KR-710, circa 1980, bought at Salvation Army store for $14.99. Rated 28 watts per channel.
Speakers: Lafayette Criterion 50, circa early to mid '60s, bought at Goodwill store for $9.99 each. Rated for 20 watts "music power" at 8 ohms. All original paper cone speakers inside: 8-inch woofers and 3-inch tweeters, plus bass port.
Recorded on my Aiptek A-HD+ camcorder in low-res CIF mode. Sorry for the poor audio, it has no external microphone input so I had to use its mono built-in one.
