My new cockatiel introduces himself as 'pretty bird'


I just brought him home from the bird shelter. I can't believe someone didn't want him. He's so gregarious and loves his new home. He's making friends with Squeaky and Sugar by saying he's a pretty bird... or maybe he's telling them they're pretty.

He came that way. I don't know much about his past other than he was dumped on the doorstep (in a tiny cage) of a bird shelter. When I brought him home, he was so excited to see other cockatiels that it just came out. I was surprised and delighted. I have been trying to teach him other things like 'i love you', but he hasn't picked it up yet. He seems to be trying though. He still says 'who's a pretty bird'and'pretty pretty bird'. He seems to be about 2 or 3 years old,but I don't know for sure.
