EU pins peace hopes on Sarkozy


French president Nicholas Sarkozy is flying to Moscow and Tbilisi next week to assess the implementation of a six-point ceasefire signed by Russia and Georgia. On Saturday, the EU's 27 foreign ministers met in France to discuss the crisis.

Is the USSR really dead? I have seen many people still embellishing CCCP t-shirts, hats, jackets and flags.If the idea of the USSR is really dead, then why do your young people not treat it as so?

Or is it the "power" and "influence" that you really miss? Do you miss not being able to march into a foriegn country (Finland, Latvia, Estonia, Hungary '56, Prague '68) at leasure and instilling your "will" upon others? Those that espouse the CCCP are no different than the KKK!

What do you mean by "equal?" Is Russia not on the UN Security Council?If anything, I would ask any number of Russians this: Where is your respect for your neighbors? The treatment Marina (Rajevskaja) Kaljurand, the Estonian Ambassador to Russia, by the Nashi amplified the Kremlin's views.

Mind you, I will emphatically state that my concerns are with the Kremlin, not Russia (or Russians) as a whole.
