Bible Talk: Heck, Darn and Gosh!


On this episode of Bible Talk, we take a closer look at what many Christians consider to be "safer" curse words... but are they really?The truth is that words like heck, darn, gosh, shoot, fudge, frickin, shucks, turnip and so forth are really just alternates for real curse words. The Lord our God is omnipotent, which means he knows what we really mean when we say "shoot!" This being the case, the alternates are no less sinful and a disgrace before our maker. The Bible clearly indicates that using the Lord's name in vain is strictly forbidden.

If you think you can hide behind a clock of deception in meaning then you are simply fooling yourself, and certainly not fooling God.

Sara Palin seemed like an acceptable choice forVice President until I heard her foul mouthed speech chock full of curse words like darn, heck and gosh. Palin has continued to use these curse words in her written speeches as well. God doesn't fall for her deception and neither should you. Sara Palin is the wrong choice for Vice President. So whois the right choice for today's Christian? The right choice for today's Christian is to stay home and pray for our country instead of wasting time in the voting booth. Who do you trust most with the future of the US? Well, for me the answer is simple... GOD!

My mother in law was scolded by her first husband because she said "golly" in front of his parents.
"Golly"...
Because "golly" is a form of taking the lord's name in vain.
I shit you not.
I should also mention that although I am Canadian I am married to a Texan - this is his Texan mom and her Texan former inlaws, lol.
